⚡Retrobit™ DS
The Retrobit™ DS is built for gamers who want the classic dual-screen experience with modern handheld power. Featuring two 4" IPS HD touchscreens, a responsive capacitive stylus, and a familiar clamshell design, it brings your favourite retro systems together in one portable device. With support for 20+ gaming systems including NDS, PlayStation, PSP, GBA, GBC, Sega systems and more, there’s an enormous library of gaming possibilities.*
Powered by Android 14 + Linux, the Retrobit™ DS goes beyond retro gaming. Multitask across both screens, run an app or guide on one display while gaming on the other, enjoy Wi-Fi multiplayer, and expand your storage with a TF card up to 2TB. Dual analog sticks, a six-axis gyroscope, stereo speakers, vibration feedback, and a built-in microphone complete the experience.
🎮 Supported Systems
For the Retrobit™ DS, I’d make this section accurate to the actual RG DS hardware rather than reuse the Elite 2.0 claims. Anbernic officially lists support for PSP, Dreamcast, Saturn, PS1, NDS, N64, CPS1/2/3, FBA, Neo Geo, GBA/GBC/GB, SNES/SFC, NES/FC, Genesis/Mega Drive, Master System, MSX, PC Engine and WonderSwan formats. Anbernic

📶Controllers, Multiplayer & TV Connection
📡 Bluetooth Controller Support
The device features Bluetooth 2.4GHz, allowing you to pair most modern wireless controllers (DualShock, DualSense, Xbox, 8BitDo, etc.).
How to pair:
Open Settings → Bluetooth → Turn On on your console.
Put your controller into pairing mode.
Select it from “Available devices” and confirm pairing.
Ready to play! You can also remap buttons inside emulators like RetroArch.
👥 Multiplayer Setup
Supports multiple controllers for local co-op.
After pairing one controller, simply repeat the pairing process for a second, third, or more.
Wired controllers via USB are also supported in many emulators.
Don’t forget to enable multiplayer input devices in emulator settings so all controllers are detected.
📺 TV / External Display Connection
The handheld supports 1080p video output through USB-C with DisplayPort.
How to connect:
Use a Micro-HDMI adapter or cable.
Plug into your console and then into your TV/monitor.
Switch to “Project Desktop” or “External Display” mode for smoother performance.
Launch your emulator or app — now you can enjoy gaming on the big screen.
✅ Pro tip: Pair Bluetooth controllers first so you can use the handheld like a console hub when connected to TV.
📥 How to Add Games
Legal note: Add only games you own (backups), public-domain titles, or homebrew.
Option A — Add games with an Expansion (microSD) Card
Power off the Retrobit™
Insert the microSD (TF 2 slot) card with your games into the card slot.
Power on, then open the folder with the TF2 slot and the games are preloaded.
Option B— Add games with a computer & microSD adapter
Power off the handheld and remove the microSD. Insert it into a microSD→USB adapter on your PC/Mac.
(Optional but recommended for 64GB+ cards) Format as exFAT to avoid the 4 GB single-file limit of FAT32—use default allocation size.
Open the root of the card and you will see the folder layout: /ROMs/NES/ /ROMs/SNES/ /ROMs/PS1/ /ROMs/PSP/
Then copy your game files into the matching folders. (Simple, system-named subfolders are what the launcher expects when you map paths.)
Safely eject the card, reinsert it in the handheld, and power on.

❄️ Efficient Cooling & Battery Life
Powered by an H700 quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 (1.5 GHz) with dual-core G31 GPU, the system handles retro workloads efficiently. It’s paired with a 3,300 mAh battery delivering up to 8 hours of playtime under good conditions.
Battery life is very good (it takes 2 hours to charge, though), the IPS displays are excellent, and DS emulation is impeccable. This is one of those devices that makes you think, "I'll buy another one if it ever breaks," rather than looking for other alternatives. The good thing is it's strong, and the hinges are amazing, better than the original DS and 3DS. It has really nice screen brightness, and since it has a touchpad, it's a nifty detail that both screens are touchscreens.
Was at the laundry mat the other day, perfect time to catch up on some of my DS games. I'm currently playing my way through LOZ phantom hourglass and Spirit Tracks
The quality is pretty solid, it feels pretty good in hands. I do like the hinges better than my DS and 3ds. Software is a bit janky, they could have done better but it’s pretty alright. Multitasking is fine, idk why the game was slowed down when doing so on RGC recent video.
Only issues I encountered is with some PSP tiles, DC and mostly 3Ds. 3Ds isn’t playable at all. I’d play RPGs if emulating 3Ds. For DS Is very great, some games like Pokemon White 2 did stutter a bit though when I had 3D rendering enabled. Just in that game
How does it run Pokemon omega ruby? Cutscenes can flutter and dip in framerate from time to time, but actual gameplay stays impressively consistent. Overall, it handles the entire lineup of 3DS Pokémon games quite well, with performance that rarely gets in the way once you’re in control. Great console for retro gaming up to the 3DS, I say!
It's like owning a DSI again, but better! I used to have an R4 and download games onto the card, so this brings back a lot of memories. I will fiddle around to see if 3DS games work, but we will see! So far, loving it.
Kirby: Canvas Curse, Nintendogs and even Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword (ventricle game) works well with the stylus and console. Great pickup for any ds fans
GammaOS was super easy to put on; it already feels great. I spent many hours on the OG DS and DSi, and this feels like a perfect way to replay some favourites and ones I missed. If you are not familiar with setting up a retro device definitely get an expansion card but this has been awesome so far
The RG DS emulates most DS titles very well, offering 2× resolution for the vast majority and dropping to 1× only for a small handful of problem games. The 3DS is on the device, but it doesn't have any preloaded 3DS games, and since each game is around 5GB, it takes time to download every single one. It's still a good gaming device that can play games from the NDS and earlier consoles.
The android feature is what takes this console over the top. I wish the switch 2 could download apps like tiktok and youtube. It's pretty cool to have everything in one entertainment device.
Not only does it play DS games, but it can also download and watch videos directly while you play another game on top, and it can play 3DS games! Yes, it doesn't work perfectly, but it's cool that it can. I have Pokémon Sun and Moon running fine on it. I downloaded the ROM online and added a new 3DS folder to the memory card, and it worked!
Pretty straightforward: a new and improved DS. It's like if your ds and phone had a baby. Watching shows on one screen and playing on another is absolutely amazing.
For the Pokémon DS games, it's worth it! The Android and app downloads on the device really make it stand out! I love mine, and I don't regret paying a fortune for it. The expansion card has every possible game I've wanted (all the Nintendo ones for the 512GB)
I really enjoy the device. I have another model from this company, so I just added the memory card to it, and my games transferred over with no problem. The standard version is awesome for anyone who knows how to edit their devices and ROM library.
The android part is great, I love doom scrolling on this device. Perfect gaming device, I play this more than my NS2.
The second screen changes the whole experience for compatible games. Add the touchscreen and stylus and it feels much closer to the original dual-screen style.
Android 14 and Linux together give the system a nice balance between modern features and a dedicated retro experience. Took me a while to understand wtf is LINUX though. Linux is basically the front end program, from my understanding, that lets you play all the retro games. the android part is what lets you play cod mobile and doom scroll on tiktok.
The biggest selling point for me is the combination of dual touchscreens and two operating-system options. It feels very versatile. I wish more 3ds games were preloaded on the 128GB card. I had to buy a 2 TB card, just so I can add 100 3ds games and all the other games from the 128 GB card. It took me a whole weekend to get all the roms, and to download them through google and online websites. Customer service was nice enough to help and explain the process but still would have liked a 2 TB or even 1 TB options with all the 3ds games on it as well.
The clamshell form factor is compact but still gives you two full displays. Great concept for anyone who enjoys dual-screen classics. Some buggy issues when I accidently touch the top screens, but it rarely happens. Just something that would be good to know when you are playing.
